If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to join the electric revolution, this might be it. While 2025 was a massive year for Tesla with over 1.6 million vehicles delivered, the second-hand market is now reaping the benefits. As the most loyal fans upgrade to the latest hardware, a fresh batch of high-quality used Model 3 and Model Y inventory is hitting the streets.

A new study from NetCredit has crunched the numbers on nearly 300,000 used car listings across the U.S. to find where the best bargains are hiding. According to their data, January is a prime time to buy, especially if you live in specific pockets of the U.S. where prices are dipping well below the national average.

For those hunting for a Tesla Model 3, Pennsylvania and Connecticut are the places to be. In Pennsylvania, the Model 3 is currently listed at 8.21% under the national average, while Connecticut buyers are seeing a 5.40% discount. If you prefer the extra room of the Model Y, Illinois is your best bet, with prices sitting 5.03% lower than elsewhere in the country.

The deals get even better when you look at specific cities. Philadelphia is the crown jewel for the Model 3, offering a staggering 8.68% discount on the national average. Los Angeles follows closely at 7.68%. For the Model Y, Chicago is the standout city with a 6.93% price reduction.

Beyond the price tag, these vehicles remain a compelling choice because they are some of the safest on the road. And with Tesla’s lead in autonomous driving and the constant evolution of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), buying used in this case doesn’t mean missing out on the future.
