Tesla FSD 14.2 Just Dropped — Here’s What’s New

Tesla has started rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.2 to early testers with software update 2025.38.9.5, arriving just one week after the company pushed FSD 14.1.7 to customers. The update is the first in the 14.2 branch and brings a few notable improvements over previous point releases, including a new in-car data section for FSD stats.
According to early users, FSD 14.2 introduces a new Self-Driving Stats section inside the vehicle. The feature, accessible through the touchscreen, displays exactly how many miles a driver has accumulated using FSD (Supervised). The stats are only available in the car for now, not in the Tesla mobile app.
The timing is interesting: Tesla last week launched a new FSD (Supervised) safety page showing a real-time global counter tracking how many miles owners have collectively driven with the system engaged. With both the global counter and the new in-car stats, Tesla appears to be gearing up for a bigger push around measured safety data as adoption grows.
FSD 14.2 also includes one new addition in the release notes (via Not a Tesla App):
Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures.
The rest of the release notes remain unchanged from the previous 14.1 point releases, including version 14.1.7.
When Tesla began pushing 14.1.7 last week, CEO Elon Musk said any lingering issues with sudden braking and hesitation would be resolved in version 14.2. With the update now hitting vehicles, testers will soon find out whether those behaviors have finally been ironed out. Stay tuned as early drives begin to surface.
Musk previously said FSD (Supervised) would start feeling “like it is sentient” with versions 14.2 and 14.3. The latter update is expected to roll out over the coming weeks.
With 14.2 now out in the wild, Tesla’s rapid update cadence continues as the company pushes toward noticeably more capable autonomous behavior. Have you received FSD 14.2 on your Tesla yet? Let us know in the comments below.
