Starlink Lands Major Wi-Fi Deal with Another Airline

Starlink has scored another major win in commercial aviation, with Dubai-based flydubai announcing a new partnership to bring SpaceX’s satellite-powered high-speed internet to its entire fleet. The deal was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025 and will see complimentary, low-latency Starlink Wi-Fi rolled out across 100 flydubai Boeing 737 aircraft starting in 2026.
The agreement underscores flydubai’s focus on improving the passenger experience as it continues expanding into new markets. “We are proud to bring Starlink’s cutting-edge technology to our customers. This agreement marks a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to elevate the travel experience, providing fast, reliable internet access across our growing network,” said flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.
“Reliable connectivity has become essential and our partnership with Starlink allows us to meet the evolving expectations of today’s travellers. As we continue to expand our fleet and network, innovation remains at the heart of our strategy.”

The partnership will allow passengers to access streaming, real-time videoconferencing, online gaming, and other data-intensive services from gate to gate. According to SpaceX, the in-flight connectivity experience will rival — or exceed — what travelers get at home.
“We’re excited to team up with flydubai and bring Starlink to its entire fleet and deliver connectivity that’s similar, if not better, than what you experience in your own home,” said Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX. “Starlink is committed to providing seamless internet on board so passengers and crew have improved and memorable experiences as they work and travel.”
The announcement lands just days after Emirates — the world’s leading luxury airline and fellow UAE carrier — revealed its own massive Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi deal, also announced during the Dubai Airshow. Starlink is reportedly in advanced talks with Saudi Arabia’s flagship airline as well, signaling a broader Middle East expansion for the service.
Globally, Starlink adoption across the aviation industry has accelerated at a breakneck pace. flydubai now joins a growing roster of carriers integrating Starlink, including United Airlines, British Airways, WestJet, Qatar Airways, ZipAir, JSX, and more. British Airways recently confirmed that it will offer free Starlink-powered Wi-Fi starting next year, further cementing the technology as a new industry standard.
With installation times measured in hours rather than days and Starlink’s global coverage continuing to grow, flydubai expects the majority of its fleet to be equipped in 2026 — a timeline that could put competitive pressure on airlines still relying on outdated, low-bandwidth systems.
