Tesla Software Update 2025.38.8.7: FSD 14.1.7 is Here

Tesla has begun rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1.7 to its S3XY lineup and Cybertruck, as part of software update 2025.38.8.7. The update appears to skip over versions 14.1.5 and 14.1.6 for non-employee vehicles, jumping directly to 14.1.7 as the newest public release.

According to early users, including several Model Y owners, FSD 14.1.7 feels noticeably smoother compared to 14.1.4, with improved comfort and consistency in complex driving environments. Mad Max Mode, Tesla’s most assertive driving profile, now appears to be more comfort-oriented in its maximum speed, making highway driving feel steadier and less aggressive.

The release notes remain unchanged from earlier FSD 14 point releases, suggesting that 14.1.7 is focused primarily on refining driving behavior, addressing bugs, and improving overall performance rather than introducing new features. The last major update, FSD 14.1.4, was released late last month.

In a post on X, Elon Musk said that any lingering issues with sudden braking or hesitation should be resolved with FSD version 14.2, which is slated to roll out in the coming weeks.

The update is also expanding to Cybertruck owners, marking the first time Tesla’s all-electric pickup is receiving a wide FSD release since it gained access to version 14 earlier this month. That rollout began with software update 2025.38.8.5, which introduced the complete suite of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) features to the Cybertruck lineup. As with most FSD updates, version 14.1.7 is being deployed gradually across Tesla’s customer fleet, so it may take several days before all eligible vehicles receive it.

Tesla continues to fine-tune FSD 14 with incremental updates ahead of version 14.2, which is expected to bring further improvements in driving smoothness and confidence — especially during freeway transitions and unprotected turns.

Still waiting for 14.1.7 in the Seattle area. 14.1.4 was a great update, it backs up out of my garage and drives up my 120 foot private driveway very nicely but it can’t find my driveway on the way home. The system can’t tell the difference between my driveway and my neighbors driveway as they are just beyond the Google mapping. Under previous updates, the car would just stop between the driveways but now it wants to park in front of my neighbors garage four doors away.
