Tesla is rolling out a new limited-time promotion that gives drivers 30 days of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for free when they buy a new set of Tesla-approved tires. The offer was announced by the official Tesla North America account on X (@tesla_na), which wrote, “Buy a set of tires in a service center or from Tesla Shop, get 30 days of free FSD Supervised. Trial will start as soon as all 4 tires are installed by Tesla Service.”

The promotion is available in both the U.S. and Canada. A 1-month FSD (Supervised) subscription is typically valued at $99 USD or CAD, giving owners a chance to test Tesla’s latest supervised autonomous driving capabilities at no extra cost.

Tesla Service Centers and the online Tesla Shop sell only Tesla-approved tires, which are specifically designed and tuned for the company’s electric vehicles. “Tires are crucial for your vehicle,” Tesla’s website reads. “Engineered to work seamlessly with Tesla’s electric vehicle drivetrains, Tesla-approved tires are built to optimize performance, safety, reliability and durability.”

As Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, put it, “It is the most important thing on the car and it’s the only thing that touches the ground and it has to do everything. It has to be quiet. It has to be comfortable.” Tesla marks its approved tires with a “T” designation — T0, T1, T2, and so on — indicating updated tuning or new technology versions.

The offer comes just as Tesla recently launched new winter wheel and tire packages for the Model S, Model X, and Model Y. A Tesla app update last month also added a new “Tire Center” feature to help owners find compatible tire sets directly within the app.

Tesla recently started rolling out FSD version 14, its most significant update since last year’s FSD 12. The automaker has been trying to increase FSD uptake as it refines the advanced driver-assistance system, and this new offer aims to drive adoption even higher.

On the software side, Tesla continues to improve its subscription experience. The company recently introduced automatic subscription extensions during service visits, ensuring that active FSD trials or subscriptions are paused and extended if a car goes into service. Tesla this week also confirmed that it plans to launch the ability to gift FSD subscriptions in time for the holidays.

With this latest offer, Tesla is tying together its hardware and software ecosystems to reward customers for buying Tesla-approved tires while giving them hands-on time with its most advanced driver-assistance software.
