SpaceX’s Starlink has surpassed 8 million active users worldwide, the company announced this week, marking another major milestone for the satellite internet service. In a post on X, Starlink thanked its global customers, confirming that the service now connects people in more than 150 countries, territories, and markets around the world.

The achievement comes after Starlink reached 7 million users in August and 6 million in June 2025, highlighting the fastest growth period in the service’s five-year history. Based on new data, Starlink added roughly 14,250 new users per day since crossing the 7-million mark — a record pace that’s 17% higher than its growth rate for the previous million users.

Starlink’s user base has grown steadily over the past year (and change), doubling from 4 million in September 2024 to 8 million today, according to data shared by the company. That momentum shows no sign of slowing as SpaceX continues to expand coverage, add capacity, and drive adoption through aggressive promotional offers.

You can check out the updated Starlink global user growth chart below, showing the company’s climb from 4 million to 8 million subscribers over the past year.

Earlier this week, Starlink began reaching out to former customers with a deep discount offer — 50% off monthly plans for 24 months — if they reactivate their accounts before December 1. The promotion is part of Starlink’s push to boost retention and re-engage previous users as it continues scaling globally.

This latest milestone also follows Starlink’s fifth anniversary celebration last month, during which the company spotlighted its very first customers. Five years in, Starlink has become the linchpin of SpaceX’s broader mission to deliver reliable high-speed internet to underserved regions and remote communities worldwide.
