Tesla Rolls Out FSD 14.1.2 with Faster, More Assertive ‘Mad Max’ Mode

Tesla has started rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1.2 to early access testers with software update 2025.32.8.10, just days after the company pushed out version 14.1.1 over the weekend. The latest update introduces a fan-favorite feature from earlier FSD builds — the assertive and high-speed “Mad Max” driving mode.
Tesla’s VP of AI, Ashok Elluswamy, first teased the release on X on Wednesday, noting that FSD 14.1.2 “will debut a much awaited feature.” Within hours, testers began reporting that the update had started hitting their vehicles. The rollout appears to be expanding rapidly, with more owners now confirming receipt of the update.
As part of FSD’s new Speed Profile system, Mad Max mode represents the most aggressive and confident driving personality yet. According to the release notes, it “comes with higher speeds and more frequent lane changes than Hurry,” making it ideal for drivers who prefer faster, more assertive behavior from Tesla’s autonomous system. Early users describe it as noticeably quicker off the line, with highway speeds reaching up to 85 mph — 5 mph more than Hurry mode’s limit.
While it’s faster and more assertive, testers have emphasized that the new mode still prioritizes safety. “FSD Mad Max on v14.1.2 isn’t just fast, but most importantly it’s still very safe,” one owner who tested the update noted. “It won’t cut people off or make any dangerous decisions. It is assertive and its lane changes are very thought out too.”
This marks the third FSD software update in just over a week, reflecting Tesla’s rapid development cadence for version 14. The previous release, 14.1.1, improved braking behavior, decision-making, and hesitation after some testers reported instances of random braking and general uncertainty with the major 14.1 update. 14.1.2 likely builds on those improvements with added refinement and tuning.
Despite being a relatively minor point release, this update helps pave the way for bigger leaps ahead. Elon Musk recently teased that FSD versions 14.2 and 14.3 — expected to arrive in the coming weeks — will bring major advances and make the system “feel almost like it is sentient.”
With FSD 14.1.2’s return of Mad Max mode, Tesla is continuing to refine how human-like — and human-fast — its autonomous driving system can feel behind the wheel. Has your Tesla received FSD 14.1.2 yet? Let us know in the comments below.
