Elon Musk Says Tesla FSD Will Soon Let Your Car Park Itself and Pick You Up

Tesla CEO Elon Musk says your car will soon be able to drop you off at the store and then park itself — no human input required. Musk made these comments on X this week, teasing a long-rumoured Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature he has previously called “Banish,” which could soon combine with Summon to let your Tesla valet itself.
“In the near future, your Tesla will drop you off at the store entrance and then go find a parking spot. When you’re ready to exit the store, just tap Summon on your phone and the car will come to you,” Musk wrote.
His post was in response to a video shared by FSD tester @DevinOlsenn, showing his car using FSD 14.1 to navigate a crowded Costco parking lot for 20 minutes in search of an open space. The video, sped up 35x, demonstrated FSD’s ability to handle complex low-speed environments — even if it’s not yet ready to autonomously park itself.
The comment comes shortly after Tesla began rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1 with software update 2025.32.8.5 earlier this week. The update adds “Arrival Options,” which lets you decide where your Tesla should park at the destination — along with major improvements to performance, routing, and overall confidence. Testers have widely praised FSD 14 for driving more naturally and exhibiting more human-like behavior.
While FSD 14.1 doesn’t yet allow the car to park itself without a driver inside, the upcoming Banish and one-tap Summon features appear to be designed to enable exactly that — turning your Tesla into something closer to a personal chauffeur.
Musk didn’t give a specific timeline for when these features will go live, but said they’re coming “in the near future.” He has also teased that FSD versions 14.2 and 14.3 are due out over the next few weeks, adding refinements that will make the system “feel almost like it is sentient.”
With every update, Tesla FSD continues inching closer to full autonomy — and if Musk’s latest comments are anything to go by, soon your car might be capable of parking itself and picking you up without you ever leaving the curb.
