Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1 has added a new layer of human-like driving behavior — including the ability to navigate a drive-thru lane. In a video clip shared by Tesla community member @DirtyTesLa on X, FSD 14.1 can be seen successfully making its way through a Wendy’s drive-thru without any driver input on the pedals or steering.
FSD waited at the speaker box for the occupant to order, advanced to the pickup window, and even paused long enough for the driver to say “thanks” before pulling away. Check out the full interaction in the video below:
Tesla officially began rolling out FSD 14.1 earlier this week as part of software update 2025.32.8.5, bringing major improvements such as new Arrival Options for where the vehicle should park, better handling, and more accurate routing. Early testers have praised the release for its newfound confidence and smoothness, saying it feels more natural behind the wheel than ever before.
@DirtyTesLa explained that the car initially tried to park when navigating to Wendy’s since “Drive-Thru” isn’t actually a selectable Arrival Option (yet). Once aligned with the drive-thru lane, though, FSD took over and handled the interaction correctly.
The driver noted that the system even performed a seamless backward parking maneuver earlier that same day. While another tester reported that FSD 14.1 “bailed” on their attempt at a drive-thru, reversing out of the lane, @DirtyTesLa said it worked twice for him — only struggling once when it stopped a bit too far from the window.
Previous versions of FSD have already shown impressive progress, including being able to handle toll booths like a human driver. Version 14, however, appears to elevate that realism further, integrating subtle timing and lane placement decisions that mimic human judgment.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has teased that upcoming FSD versions will continue to build on this foundation, suggesting that by version 14.2, a Tesla with FSD enabled will “feel almost like it is sentient.” That update is expected to roll out in the coming weeks, followed by 14.3 shortly after.
As for whether a dedicated “drive-thru” destination option will arrive soon, testers think it’s just a matter of time.
