Tesla FSD 14: Major Improvements and More Human-Like Driving

Tesla officially began rolling out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14.1 this week with software update 2025.32.8.5, introducing some of the most significant improvements the company has ever made to its autonomous driving system. The update adds new Arrival Options for where FSD should park, along with major handling and routing upgrades.

To showcase just how far the technology has come, Tesla shared a compilation thread on X highlighting some of the most impressive user experiences so far. The clips demonstrate a clear leap in the system’s ability to handle real-world scenarios with smoother, more human-like behavior.

In one instance, FSD automatically pulled to the side of the road when police cars approached with flashing lights and sirens — waiting until it was safe to continue. Another driver reported FSD perfectly obeying a flashing-light school zone, slowing to the exact speed limit, and confidently handling an unprotected left turn.

Others shared that version 14.1 can now navigate complex parking garages on its own, pulling up to ticket booths, waiting for drivers to insert tickets, and waiting for the barrier to open before continuing the trip. This builds on FSD 13’s ability to handle toll booths intelligently.

Testers also praised FSD 14.1’s parking improvements, noting that it can now park itself with impressive accuracy — even in tight spots — and navigate through narrow gates that previous versions struggled with. Many described the system as “smoother,” “more confident,” and “human-like” in its steering and braking, with reduced hesitation and better overall anticipation of surrounding vehicles and pedestrians.

The new update’s “Arrival Options” feature also allows drivers to select where they’d like their Tesla to park — at a charger, curbside, or in a driveway — or lets FSD choose automatically based on the destination. Several users reported that FSD now recognizes when it’s heading to a Supercharger and adjusts accordingly.

Early impressions suggest that this release marks a turning point for Tesla’s self-driving efforts. As one tester put it, FSD 14.1 “feels sentient.” Elon Musk has said the experience will only improve from here, teasing that version 14.2 will roll out “in a few weeks,” followed by 14.3 later this year — with each update expected to make the system even more lifelike.

For now, FSD 14.1 appears to be Tesla’s most capable and natural-feeling driving software yet.
