Starlink has started offering a new perk for its longtime customers in Australia. Residential subscribers who have maintained their plan for over a year are receiving app notifications and emails inviting them to claim a free Starlink Mini dish, along with a 50% discount on Roam plans activated on that dish (via Reddit).

“As a thank you for being a Residential customer for over a year, you’ll receive a Starlink Mini to use at no cost,” the notification reads.

Users across Australia have confirmed receiving the offer, which provides the Mini dish at no charge. The equipment comes with complimentary unlimited, low-speed internet suitable for email and basic messaging. On top of that, eligible customers can get half off Starlink Roam subscriptions. Plans start at $80 AUD for 50GB, with the Unlimited option at $195 AUD.

One customer described the offer as “similar to the early adopter Mini pre-release offer in the U.S.,” except this time Standby Mode is included for free. Normally, Starlink charges for Standby Mode, which recently replaced the discontinued Pause feature that had been popular among occasional users.

Another subscriber noted that the Mini is essentially a rental: “The mini is a ‘free’ rental which you have to give back or pay out if you cancel the Residential plan. It also comes with 50% discount on Roam plans for this Mini.” This means the hardware won’t cost you anything for as long as you have your Residential subscription.

The offer is valid through October 8, 2025, and is confirmed to be available nationwide in Australia. At this time, it remains unclear whether SpaceX will extend it to other markets.

This promotion comes on the heels of SpaceX dropping the price of its Standard Starlink dish to an all-time low of just $89 USD in the U.S., while also offering discounts on Residential subscriptions for new users. The company has been ramping up incentives as it looks to expand beyond the seven million global users it recently surpassed across the globe.
