Tesla Launches ‘MultiPass’ to Let Owners Charge at Third-Party EV Stations

Tesla has introduced a new feature called MultiPass, allowing owners to use their Tesla account to charge at third-party EV chargers.
Announced on Monday by the official Tesla Charging account (@TeslaCharging) on X, MultiPass lets owners activate charging at non-Tesla stations directly from the Tesla app or by tapping their Tesla key card. Charging sessions and history are also tracked within the Tesla app, giving drivers one consistent place to manage all of their EV charging activity.

The feature is now live for Tesla owners in the Netherlands, with support for more sites and countries coming soon.
As Tesla opens its Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs — including Porsche and Audi most recently — the company appears to also be focused on making things easier for its own drivers at competing networks. MultiPass does exactly that, making third-party charging almost as seamless as using a Supercharger.
That said, third-party EV chargers will not offer some Supercharger-exclusive features, such as automatic battery preconditioning, and upcoming additions like automatic parking at Superchargers and virtual queuing. Still, the convenience of activating and paying for charging sessions with the Tesla account owners already use is a meaningful improvement.
MultiPass also comes as Tesla continues to aggressively expand its global Supercharger footprint, while positioning its app as a central hub for EV charging. By bridging the gap between Tesla’s network and others, the company is giving drivers more flexibility while staying within the Tesla ecosystem.
For now, MultiPass is limited to the Netherlands, but with Tesla confirming broader expansion plans, it won’t be long before this added convenience comes to more markets.
