Tesla has announced it will host a “Las Megas” event in Las Vegas on September 8, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, where the company is widely expected to unveil a next-generation Megapack product. The event will be streamed live on Tesla’s official X account (@tesla).
Influencers and Tesla community insiders have been invited to attend the launch. “I’ll be going to @Tesla’s ‘Las Megas’ event in Vegas in a couple days, where the company is expected to unveil a next-generation Megapack product,” said Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt (@SawyerMerritt) on X.
The Megapack is Tesla’s utility-grade energy storage solution. Designed for large-scale projects, each Megapack can store massive amounts of energy and dispatch it to the grid when needed, helping utilities stabilize supply during peak demand and integrate renewable energy sources like solar and wind. The technology has become a staple of battery storage projects worldwide.
Last month, Tesla Megapacks were deployed in Australia’s Collie Battery Energy Storage System, a 2.2 GWh installation that represents one of the largest storage projects in the world. Tesla also recently scored a record $2.7 billion order from Georgia Power for Megapacks, further cementing its dominance in the utility-scale battery market.
While Tesla has not revealed specifics about what will be announced, a next-generation Megapack product could bring major improvements in capacity, efficiency, or software integration. Given the growing importance of energy storage in transitioning to renewable energy, any upgrade to the Megapack will likely play a significant role in Tesla’s broader energy strategy, which is a key component of the company’s recently unveiled Master Plan Part 4.
The Megapack has quietly become one of Tesla’s most impactful products, even if it doesn’t get as much attention as its cars. All eyes will be on Las Vegas next week to see what’s next for the company’s energy division.
