Tesla Vehicles Now Drive Themselves Off the Line at Giga Berlin

Tesla is showing off a new level of autonomy at its Giga Berlin factory. Freshly built vehicles are now capable of driving themselves from the end of the production line to their designated spots in the outbound lot — all without human intervention.

According to the official Tesla AI account (@Tesla_AI) on X, the process is fully autonomous. Each vehicle navigates the factory grounds, stops briefly at the on-site Supercharger for a top-up, and then parks itself in the outbound lot where it awaits delivery.

While this might sound futuristic, Tesla has already proven its technology can go even further. Back in June, the automaker made history in the U.S. when a Model Y at Giga Texas drove itself straight from the production line to a customer’s doorstep in Austin using Full Self-Driving (FSD). That milestone marked the world’s first fully autonomous vehicle delivery.

In Europe, however, FSD still hasn’t received regulatory approval for use on public roads. That means, for now, Tesla’s autonomous navigation remains confined to the company’s property. Still, the fact that Tesla trusts FSD to safely move vehicles across its massive, high-traffic production site — where any mishap could disrupt operations — speaks volumes about the system’s maturity.

Tesla continues to push for broader regulatory approval of FSD. The company recently debuted FSD (Supervised) in Australia and New Zealand after securing the green light from regulators, a move that demonstrates progress in expanding access to its self-driving software globally.

For European customers, the only barrier left isn’t the technology itself but regulatory clearance. Take a look at Tesla vehicles driving themselves through Giga Berlin in the video below:
