Tesla has officially launched the new Model Y Performance in Europe, introducing a raft of upgrades designed to improve both driving dynamics and everyday comfort. The updated Performance variant now goes from 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds, slightly quicker than the outgoing version’s 3.5 seconds, while offering up to 308 miles of range (EPA cycle estimate) — just 1% less than the Long Range model.

Exterior changes include new front and rear fascias and a carbon fiber spoiler for better aerodynamics, as well as staggered wheels and tires that provide more grip and sharper steering response. A new adaptive damping system adjusts handling based on road conditions, while unique drive modes unlock additional freedom at higher speeds. High-performance brakes promise improved pedal feel and better heat management under stress.

Inside, the Model Y Performance gains ventilated and heated sport seats with added bolstering and power thigh extensions up front, while second-row passengers get perforated, heated seats with power recline. The SUV now features Tesla’s highest-resolution 16-inch QHD central touchscreen, along with acoustic glass and premium sound-damping materials for a quieter cabin. Ambient lighting in the footwells and door pockets further elevates the atmosphere.

Tesla says the range improvements are partly thanks to new high-density battery cells that increase charge capacity and efficiency. The new Model Y Performance is already on display at select Tesla sales centers across Europe.

You can order the Model Y Performance through Tesla’s online configurator starting today, but only in Europe. It will be available in other markets later. Deliveries in European countries are set to begin over the next month or two.

It remains to be seen if the new Model Y Performance can help Tesla reverse its ongoing sales slump in Europe, where the automaker has faced slowing demand. The launch comes just as Tesla’s Giga Berlin factory recently celebrated building its 100,000th refreshed Model Y, and a week after the all-electric pioneer unveiled the China-exclusive, six-seat Model Y L.
