Tesla’s entry into the Indian market is rapidly picking up speed. Just weeks after opening its first showroom in Mumbai, the EV giant on Monday announced the opening of its first Supercharger site in the country — located at One BKC in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra Kurla Complex.
The new charging station features four V4 Superchargers offering fast DC charging, alongside four AC destination chargers. Tesla says this is the first of several charging sites planned for Mumbai, with additional Superchargers coming soon to Thane, Lower Parel, and Navi Mumbai. In total, the city is expected to receive 16 Superchargers spread across four locations by the end of the September quarter.
Delhi is next on Tesla’s roadmap. The company has announced that its second Indian “Experience Center” will open in the capital city on August 11. Located in a high-traffic area, this new store follows Tesla’s 4,000-square-foot Mumbai showroom, which opened last month inside the Maker Maxity Mall at BKC. Four charging locations are also being prepared for Delhi, including sites in Aerocity, Saket, Golf Course Road, and Noida.
Tesla is expected to begin Model Y deliveries in India as soon as Q3 2025, with the 500 km-range variant arriving first. A longer-range 622 km model will follow in Q4. The first wave of deliveries will be focused on Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurgaon.
Tesla’s debut in India has been years in the making, and the recent rollout of Superchargers and showrooms marks a pivotal moment for the company in one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.
