Watch Tesla FSD Handle Toll Booths Like a Human [VIDEO]

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) just got even more impressive — and a little more polite.
In a video shared by Tesla community member @DirtyTesLa, FSD Beta v13.2.9 is seen calmly approaching a toll booth at a park, stopping to let the human occupants pay for a park pass, and then — impressively — resuming driving the moment the exchange wraps up.
“The moment we finished our exchange and the toll booth lady said ‘Have a great day,’ the car continued driving through the park,” said @WifeDirtyTesla, who was also in the car at the time. There was no physical gate involved, just the system waiting for the human interaction to end. Check out the impressive feat in the video below:
Tesla’s VP of AI, Ashok Elluswamy, later explained how the vehicle’s repeater and pillar cameras visually monitor what’s happening at the booth, allowing the car to determine when it’s time to move forward. “It can see the transaction happening… Hence FSD proceeds on its own when the transaction is complete,” he said, replying to @DirtyTesLa‘s original post.
This is just the latest in a string of increasingly polished FSD behaviors. The system recently crushed competing ADAS systems from Chinese automakers in independent crash-avoidance testing. Tesla recently also showed off FSD Supervised tackling complex city driving in London and Madrid as it waits for regulatory green lights in Europe.
What’s more, FSD is expected to get a major boost soon from the software Tesla is testing with its Robotaxi fleet in Austin, advancements from which CEO Elon Musk confirmed will trickle down to public builds in the coming months.
