Located along Santa Monica Blvd between Highland and La Brea in the heart of Hollywood’s Media District, the Tesla Diner-Supercharger-drive-in theater hybrid has been under construction since September 2023. Now, nearly two years later, the location is listed in the Tesla app as temporarily closed — a strong sign that a public launch is imminent.

The site features 80 V4 Superchargers capable of delivering up to 325 kW, and even in its current pre-launch state, it shows just one stall listed as out of order. Given the recent uptick in Tesla Diner-related chatter, this app listing is likely one of the final prep steps before a grand opening.

Tesla has reportedly already held a “test opening,” and early attendees have shared exciting details: diners will be able to order food directly from their in-car screen, with meals served in Cybertruck-shaped boxes. Two massive 45-foot screens will play movies and videos synced with the car’s speakers and display — an experience CEO Elon Musk confirmed on X.

The menu will include burgers, fries, chicken wings, hot dogs, hand-spun milkshakes, and more, all delivered in a sleek, retro-futuristic aesthetic. The venue also features luxury Toto restrooms, elevators for accessibility, and an Optimus robot display. You’ll even be able to get some Tesla Diner-branded merchandise, like shirts, hats, and more, while you’re there.

With its unique blend of nostalgia, innovation, and convenience, the Tesla Diner is sure to rapidly climb up the ranks of the most distinctive Supercharger locations to date.
