Tesla’s Video Contest for a New Model Y Gets Deadline Extension — Here’s How to Enter

Tesla has extended the deadline for its TeslaVision fan video contest, giving participants more time — and a better shot — at winning a brand-new Model Y.
Originally slated to close on July 17, the deadline has now been pushed to August 31, or until 10,000 entries are received, whichever comes first. That means if you’ve been procrastinating, now’s the time to grab your camera — because the window could still close early if submissions flood in.
The contest, first announced by Tesla on June 11, invites fans to create a short video (90 seconds or less) that showcases how Tesla brings more to their lives — more freedom, more safety, more fun, and more convenience. Entries are open to both Tesla owners and non-owners across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
To enter, simply upload your video to YouTube, post it on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram while tagging @Tesla and including the phrase “TeslaVision contest,” and then submit those URLs via Tesla’s contest page here.
The grand prize? A new Model Y, worth around $45,000 USD, plus an all-expenses-paid trip to Gigafactory Texas for an exclusive tour. Two runners-up will also get the VIP tour treatment.
This isn’t Tesla’s first time tapping into its fanbase for creative content — the company ran a similar video contest back in 2017. The revived competition comes as Tesla celebrates the global rollout of the refreshed Model Y, and it’s clear the automaker is once again betting on its fiercely loyal community to tell the story better than any marketing campaign could.
So if you’ve got an idea, some editing chops, and a passion for Tesla — get those entries in soon, and share your submissions with us in the comments below. That Model Y isn’t going to win itself!
