Tesla Opens Soon-to-Be World’s Largest Supercharger in California

Tesla has officially opened what will soon become the largest Supercharger station in the world, and it’s right in California. The new Supercharger site, located at 22422 Highway 46 in Lost Hills, has gone live just in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend — perfect for drivers hitting the road.
Announced by Tesla through the official @TeslaCharging account on X, the massive charging hub currently has 84 operational Supercharger stalls. An additional 84 stalls are set to open later this year, bringing the total to a whopping 168 stalls — enough to clinch the title of the world’s largest Supercharger once fully completed.
But it’s not just about the number of chargers. The site also features 11 megawatts of solar power from ground-mounted panels and canopies spread across 30 acres of land. Even more impressive, the site features 10 Tesla Megapacks with 39 MWh of battery storage. According to Tesla, the Supercharger is currently operating off-grid, powered entirely by the sun, with only a minimal 1.5 MW grid connection for now.
Tesla also designed the station with long-distance travelers in mind. There are 12 pull-through stalls for vehicles towing trailers or carrying larger loads, and a dedicated lounge for drivers and passengers is also in the works, slated to open alongside the remaining charging stalls later this year.
This milestone comes as Tesla continues expanding its Supercharger network globally, offering faster and more sustainable charging solutions for EV drivers. The all-electric pioneer recently hit 70,000 Supercharger stalls worldwide, with Gigafactory New York producing its 25,000th V4 Supercharger stall just days ago.
For now, Lost Hills is already among the biggest Superchargers in the world — and it’s poised to take the crown as the largest later this year.
