Tesla has started emailing some Cybertruck owners with an offer for a free one-year trial of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, now labeled “Full Self-Driving (Supervised).”
According to emails shared online by Cybertruck owners, the trial allows the FSD (Supervised) system to handle most driving tasks, including lane changes, turns, and navigating complex roads, all while following the vehicle’s navigation route.
Despite the advanced features, Tesla reminds users that the system is not fully autonomous and requires driver attention at all times. “Do not become complacent,” the email warns, emphasizing that drivers must remain fully alert and ready to take over at any moment.
The offer appears to be rolling out gradually to select Cybertruck owners, offering them a closer look at Tesla’s latest driver-assistance technology at no extra cost.
Normally, FSD costs $99 per month, so the one-year trial is worth $1,200 USD.
Was this free FSD trial gift to make things better for cancelling the Cybertruck Range Extender accessory? Offering a longer FSD trial also gives Tesla data from testers, and can convert long-time free trial users into paying customers.
