Tesla has launched a more affordable version of its Cybertruck — the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) — with deliveries expected to begin in the U.S. between June and July 2025. This RWD Cybertruck is not available in Canada yet.

We first saw Tesla announce the RWD Cybertruck for the Middle East this week, but it lacked pricing and feature details. Now, we have more on this Long Range RWD Cybertruck, which has basic features to go with its lower price.

Priced at $69,990 USD, or $62,490 after applying the federal EV tax credit, this new trim offers a simplified package with fewer features compared to the dual-motor AWD version but maintains the truck’s signature design and utility.

The Cybertruck RWD is estimated to get 350 miles of range on a single charge, which increases to 362 miles with an optional soft tonneau cover. The truck can tow up to 7,500 pounds and has a 6-foot by 4-foot bed. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and weighs in at 6,117 pounds, slightly lighter than the AWD model.

Unlike higher-end trims, this version does not come with air suspension, a rear screen, bed outlets, or premium lighting features. It also skips ventilated seats, heated rear seats, and active noise cancellation. Seating is finished in cloth textile rather than vegan leather, and the truck includes a simpler 7-speaker sound system instead of the 15-speaker premium setup found in more expensive versions.

Optional upgrades include a $750 soft tonneau cover, $3,500 Cyber Wheels and Covers package, and Full Self-Driving, priced at $7,000 for early reservation holders or $8,000 otherwise. The soft tonneau, which also begins shipping in June, improves efficiency slightly and helps the truck recover more miles per minute while charging.

Tesla’s Wes Morrill highlighted the balance of practicality and performance in the new model. “More efficient. More affordable. Long Range Cybertruck brings all-wheel stability and traction control plus a rear locking differential with up to 362 miles of estimated range,” he said.

“Put it to work with 7,500 lb tow rating, 2,000 lb payload wrapped in a tough stainless exterior. The 6’x4′ bed is all business, ready to tackle whatever you throw at it. No bed liner needed, and the soft tonneau accessory can cover your gear and increase efficiency, taking the 350 miles range up to 362. Increased efficiency also means faster charging — miles recovered per minute.”

He also praised the material choices, saying, “My favorite addition are the textile seats, comfortable, easy to clean and highly durable, plus they look sharp.” Morrill added that Powershare functionality remains available, and with the Mobile Charger outlet adapter, owners can still create their own 120V AC grid when needed.
