Tesla Plans Cybertruck-Inspired Supercharger in New Mexico

Tesla is preparing to build a new Supercharger station in Roswell, New Mexico, and it’s not your typical charging stop.

The upcoming location will feature a Cybertruck-style canopy, complete with solar panels and RGB lighting, giving the whole site a futuristic, UFO-inspired look, as first discovered by @MarcoRP1.

Tesla plans to install eight charging stalls at the site, located near the Whataburger on North Main Street. The “CyberCanopy” design includes a 20.88 kW solar array and lighting modeled after the front light bar of the Cybertruck.

Although early drawings for the project date back to 2023, Tesla now says it’s redesigning the layout internally. This could mean the final station will include newer V4 Supercharger stalls, rather than the older V3 ones shown in earlier renderings. As of now, no permits have been filed for the site.

Tesla executive Max de Zegher, Director of Charging for North America (and beyond), confirmed the plans, saying:

“We want to build a few Superchargers cool enough to be worthy of the trip itself. Wish we could have kept it under wraps for longer, but submittal was needed for Planning Approval. We can’t hide anything from @MarcoRPi1!” He also shared an official image, which looks to be a from a model of the site—check it out below:

More details are expected once Tesla submits official plans. This Cyber-style Supercharger looks pretty bad-ass.
