Wes Morrill, Cybertruck Lead Engineer at Tesla, announced the change on X, explaining that if drivers hold the wash button through two cycles, the wiper will now continuously soak the windshield, effectively doubling the amount of washer fluid dispensed. This tweak is aimed at helping drivers clear stubborn road salt more effectively while still maintaining quick cleaning for regular use.
The feature is part of software update 2025.2.8, which started rolling out to Wave 1 Cybertruck owners and will soon be available to the entire fleet. The change will be noted in the official release notes once it reaches all vehicles.
For maintenance, Morrill reminded Cybertruck owners that wiper blades should be replaced when worn out and can be purchased directly through Tesla’s mobile app or online accessory shop.
