Tesla’s Cybertruck has received a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), solidifying its status as one of the safest vehicles in its category. The rating comes after rigorous crash tests assessing frontal, side, and rollover risks.

In frontal crash tests, the Cybertruck demonstrated strong protection, earning five stars for the driver’s side and four stars for the front passenger. The vehicle excelled in side-impact testing, achieving a perfect five-star rating for both the front and rear seats in side barrier and side pole crash scenarios. These tests simulate collisions at intersections and impacts with fixed objects like trees or poles.

The truck’s rollover resistance was rated at four stars, with a measured rollover risk of 12.4 percent. Notably, in the dynamic tip test, the Cybertruck did not tip over, indicating strong stability in loss-of-control situations.

Tesla’s electric truck also meets NHTSA’s highest standards for safety technology, including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking, and dynamic brake support. Additionally, there are no current recalls, investigations, or consumer complaints reported for the 2025 model.

With its stainless steel exoskeleton and futuristic design, the Cybertruck has faced skepticism over its structural integrity. However, the latest safety tests reinforce Tesla’s commitment to durability and passenger protection. The five-star rating places the Cybertruck alongside Tesla’s other vehicles, which have consistently scored high in safety evaluations.

Several Tesla vehicles have achieved the NHTSA’s highest safety rating of five stars. The Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y have all received five-star ratings in various safety categories, including frontal crash, side crash, and rollover tests as well. Now, Cybertruck joins this safety club as well.
