A recent Tesla app update has revealed several upcoming features and changes, thanks to a code breakdown by @Tesla_App_iOS on X. Here’s a summary of what’s on the horizon:
- Updated Safety Score: Tesla Insurance Safety Score may include the percentage of time spent using Full Self-Driving (FSD) in its calculations. This could lead to potential discounts for frequent FSD users.
- New Trip View: A redesigned Safety Score Trip View will show FSD usage as a percentage of time instead of just miles.
- Tesla Diner Integration: References to the LA Tesla Diner under construction suggest it may open soon. The app will have a dedicated interface for ordering food and services when at the diner.
- Roadside Assistance Updates: Live activity tracking during roadside service could be added, allowing users to see updates in real-time.
- Safety Score Reset: Users might soon be able to request a reset of their Safety Score or dispute penalties for events that didn’t occur, like incorrect forward collision warnings.
- Battery and Charging Info: The app will display how long it takes to heat the battery before charging and support filtering Superchargers capable of up to 325 kW.
- Cybertruck Details: The upcoming cheaper rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Cybertruck will feature a manual tonneau cover but may lack standard AC outlets.
- Blocked Supercharging Alerts: The app will now notify users if their car is blocked from using Superchargers and explain the reason.
- Range Estimates: A new feature will estimate vehicle range based on age and mileage when connected to the internet.
- Improved Key Features: Android devices may gain Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support for better key functionality, with tips provided if the Bluetooth/UWB key isn’t working.
Let’s wait and see how much a RWD Cybertruck will cost. Of course being cheaper, key features won’t be included like a power tonneau cover, which kind of seems like a bad idea. The LA Diner is going to be so awesome, can’t wait for that!
