Some Tesla Model Y Delivery Dates Slip to May–Refresh Incoming?
It’s no surprise that Tesla is planning a Model Y refresh (codenamed “Juniper”) that’s been rumoured to start production this month. This refresh is said to follow updates seen in the newest Model 3.
Now, it appears we are seeing more evidence a new Model Y refresh is coming soon. Checks of the company’s website by Tesla North show that some estimated delivery dates have now been extended to May 2025 (Model Y RWD) in certain regions—that’s four months from now.
The pause means Tesla is likely reconfiguring and modifying its manufacturing lines at Giga Shanghai to produce the new Model Y.
Markets that are showing estimated delivery dates of May 2025 include Slovakia and the UAE for example, markets where Tesla exports from Giga Shanghai. Hong Kong is showing an estimated delivery of 2-3 months for the RWD Model Y.
As for China, it’s showing delivery dates of 1-3 weeks for the Model Y. If Giga Shanghai is going to debut the new Model Y in China first, this makes sense.
Recently, the rumored Model Y refresh was also spotted in San Jose, California. The new Model Y will have new headlights and what many believe to be a light bar on the rear. Let’s wait and find out, folks!
