Tesla continues to roll out its 2024 Holiday Update , which comes jam-packed with new features for its vehicles. Part of this rollout includes software update 2024.44.25.2, which we have received on HW3 vehicles.
Highlights include the highly anticipated Apple Watch app , which also acts as a phone key, plus gives controls.

Apple Watch Integration
Tesla for Apple Watch : Pair your Apple Watch as a key to lock and unlock your vehicle without pressing a button, just like the phone key.
Watch Face Complication : See your vehicle’s battery status and perform actions like opening the frunk or trunk directly from your Apple Watch.
Mobile App Dashcam Viewer
Watch and save Dashcam and Sentry Mode clips directly from your phone.
To enable: Activate View Camera via Mobile App on your vehicle touchscreen (Controls > Safety).
Requires iOS mobile app version 4.39.5 or higher and Premium Connectivity.
SiriusXM
Enjoy ad-free music, talk shows, news, sports, comedy, and more via SiriusXM in your car or phone.
Access SiriusXM through the App Launcher. Free trial available.
Requires Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi.
Set Arrival Energy
Set a preferred battery charge level for when you arrive at your destination.
Trip Planner adjusts routes with recommended charging stops and durations.
Enable this in the turn-by-turn navigation list by selecting Set Arrival Energy .
Search Along Route
When navigating, search results are filtered to show locations along your route (e.g., coffee shops, restaurants).
Results display the estimated detour time for each stop.
Weather at Destination
View the weather forecast for your destination while navigating.
Significant weather differences between your location and destination will be highlighted.
Requires Premium Connectivity.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Alerts you if a pedestrian or vehicle is detected crossing behind your car when reversing.
Highlights the detected side on the rear-view camera feed in red.
TuneIn Radio
Explore over 100,000 radio stations, 3 million podcasts, and audiobooks for free.
Features personalized driver profiles, enhanced support for sports and podcasts, and richer station details.
Requires Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi.
Light Show Update
Celebrate with new Light Show options set to “Cyber Symphony” by Lionel Yu and “Ready for Assault” by Evgeny Bardyuzha.
Sync multiple vehicles, control interior lighting, and add display effects for custom shows.
Start shows instantly, schedule them in advance, or use the Toybox > Light Show feature on the touchscreen.
Theater and Video Updates
Use the media card to play and pause video content from the browser or Theater.
Start a video in the web browser and continue listening to the audio while driving.
Seats Control
Adjust the position of the unoccupied passenger seat using the new Seats control panel.
Access via Controls > Seats.
Maintenance Summary
Keep track of when maintenance actions (like tire rotations) were last performed.
Maintenance records persist through factory resets for use by current and future owners.
Access via Controls > Service > Maintenance.
Minor Updates
Parking Assistance : Tap “Nearby Parking” on a point-of-interest page to find parking.
Dynamic Routing : Navigation dynamically avoids road closures and displays them on affected routes.
Sentry Mode Alerts : Get notifications if someone attempts to open the door or trunk while Sentry Mode is active.
Dashcam Improvements : Skip directly to recorded events when reviewing Dashcam clips in your vehicle.
Energy App Update : View energy usage over the last 200 miles.
Supercharger Notifications : Get notified on arrival of any stalls out of service.
Lower Volume in Reverse : Music volume lowers automatically when reversing to aid focus. Enable via Controls > Safety.
General Enhancements : Minor fixes and performance improvements.
This update includes several features designed to enhance the driving experience, usability, and entertainment options for Tesla owners.
