Tesla Streaming: Paramount+, HBO GO and More Coming, Hints Code
Tesla appears to be gearing up to add several new streaming platforms to its Tesla Theater feature, according to code discovered in the Tesla app by @Tesla_iOS_App.
The update suggests that services like TVLand, MTV, Paramount, and HBO GO could soon be available for Tesla drivers, further enhancing entertainment options. There’s nothing better than watching TV or movies when you’re charging or waiting for someone.
The discovery highlights a function labeled “parsePossibleSources,” indicating Tesla’s intent to better integrate the Tesla app with its in-car infotainment system. This synchronization aims to improve the user experience, making it seamless to access video streaming services directly from the car.
Tesla Theater, an existing feature in the company’s vehicles, allows users to watch content on services like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+. With a premium subscription, Tesla offers data access for streaming of these services. Users with existing subscriptions to streaming services just sign in with existing credentials and can then watch right away.
Typically, these code discoveries by @Tesla_iOS_App usually come true, such as when hints of an Apple Watch app were first found. Tesla launched an Apple Watch app yesterday, as part of its 2024 Holiday Update.
