Tesla has announced a major upgrade to its Supercharger network: the V4 Cabinet, set to launch in 2025. This next-generation charging station will deliver faster and more powerful charging than ever before.
Tesla’s new V4 Cabinet can provide up to 500kW of power for cars and an impressive 1.2MW for its Semi trucks, speeding up charge times across the board.
For example, Cybertruck owners can expect a 30% faster charge compared to previous models. Tesla’s S3XY lineup (Model S, 3, X, and Y) will keep their fast 250kW charging rate, allowing up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
Beyond speed, the V4 Cabinet will help Tesla expand its network even quicker. Each cabinet powers eight charging posts, doubling the number of cars it can charge at once. This efficiency also reduces the station’s size, making it easier to install Superchargers in more locations.
Tesla is currently seeking permits for the first V4 Cabinet sites, which are expected to open to drivers in 2025. Another next step in the evolution of Tesla’s advantageous Supercharger network.
