Tesla Model S Plaid Patrol Car Unveiled by Unplugged Performance
Unplugged Performance’s UP.FIT division is making headlines at SEMA 2024 with the reveal of the first-ever Tesla Model S Plaid built for law enforcement. The customized “UP.FIT Tesla Model S Plaid Pursuit” is designed to meet the demanding needs of police work, combining cutting-edge performance with sustainability.
This modified Model S Plaid, boasting over 1,000 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 1.99 seconds, has been tailored with law enforcement-specific features. These include custom-built forward- and rear-facing warning lights integrated into the vehicle’s glass for improved aerodynamics, side skirt lighting, push-bumper lights, and integrated emergency sirens.
The vehicle complies fully with California’s Title 13 regulations, making it ready for immediate use by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in their Motorsports community outreach program.
Beyond lighting, the UP.FIT Model S Plaid Pursuit includes performance enhancements from Unplugged Performance, such as upgraded brakes and lightweight wheels, boosting durability and handling for high-speed pursuits. With a range of 345 miles and zero emissions, it presents an efficient and eco-friendly alternative to traditional patrol cars, reducing maintenance and fuel costs.
“The UP.FIT Plaid Pursuit embodies everything we value in electric police vehicles,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance. “With top-tier acceleration, extended range, and lower operational costs, this platform offers law enforcement the latest tools to serve the community while promoting a cleaner future.”
The UP.FIT Plaid Pursuit will be on display at SEMA’s FutureTech Studio booth #24401, marking a significant step forward in electric vehicle adoption for public safety.
