Tesla has launched a new accessory for the Model 3 and Model Y, offering high-definition projection lights that display the Tesla wordmark on the ground when the vehicle’s doors are opened.
The Model Y Projection Lights are priced at $65 USD ($90 in Canada) and include two lights, one for the driver’s side door and one for the passenger’s side. The Model 3 version supports all versions of the vehicle.
The lights are designed to be easily installed and compatible with the Model Y. The installation process involves removing the existing puddle lamps and replacing them with the Tesla Projection Lights, which automatically project the logo once connected.
Tesla provides detailed installation instructions, cautioning users not to close the doors during installation to avoid damaging the windows. Looking at Tesla’s install video, these will take a minute to install. Looks pretty neat to see an official accessory for puddle lights. Some third party versions have caused issues before.
The new accessory is available for purchase through Tesla’s website, and customers can check compatibility with their vehicle by signing into their Tesla account.
