
Tesla continues to gain popularity in China, as the company’s vehicles were the best-selling luxury cars of any brand in the nation from August 5-8 (via @Tslachan).
Elon Musk’s Tesla topped other brands such as Mercedes (2nd), Li Auto (3rd), and Audi (4th) and BMW (5th).
But that’s not the only feat of Tesla in China right now. The company’s Model Y was the top ranked battery electric vehicle (BEV) when it comes to wholesale sales, from the period January to July of this year. The Model Y saw wholesale sales of 298,384 units (via @CnEVPost). BYD’s Seagull was in second place seeing over 227,000 units.
Tesla continues to pump out Model 3 and Model Y vehicles at its Giga Shanghai factory, where vehicles are made for both the domestic and export market. Let’s see what the final numbers will be for Tesla’s entire 2024 calendar year once the end of December rolls around.
