Tesla has delayed the release of its Range Extender for the Cybertruck, according to a change on its website (via @SawyerMerritt).
Expected availability has changed from “late 2024” to “early 2025.”
The Range Extender, which is estimated to cost $16,000 USD, will increase the vehicle’s total range to over 470 miles (756 km), according to Tesla’s estimates.
Installation of the add-on will be required at a Tesla Service Center, with production now planned to begin in early 2025. Tesla is offering priority installation for those who reserve the Range Extender, which requires a non-refundable deposit of $500.
Recently, Tesla expanded Foundation Cybertruck orders to Canada and Mexico.
