Tesla Milestone: 10 Millionth Drive Unit Produced [VIDEO]

Tesla drive units 10 million

Tesla has reached a significant milestone in its production journey by manufacturing its 10 millionth drive unit on July 3, 2024.

The 10 millionth drive unit was highlighted in a photo shared by Tesla on X. The image featured the Tesla drive unit team posing with the milestone unit. Drive units convert battery energy to power all Tesla vehicles.

Every part of the drive unit is built from the ground up, with a new drive unit being produced every 5 seconds. Notably, the cost of today’s drive units is less than half of the original Model S drive unit, explained Tesla. Check out the company’s video below:

This achievement follows closely on the heels of Tesla’s announcement that Giga Nevada had produced its five millionth drive unit less than two months ago. This latest milestone is thanks to all global teams.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk congratulated the drive unit team on X, acknowledging their role in reaching this milestone. “Congratulations to our global teams for producing 10 million drive units and helping accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.”
