In Europe, BlueCruise users can now access more than 82,744 miles of designated highways, known as Blue Zones. This allows customers to enjoy hands-free driving across multiple countries, such as a journey from Sweden to Italy, covering nearly 1,864 miles and over 25 hours of driving.
In 2023, BlueCruise became the first hands-free driving system to gain regulatory approval in Great Britain and later rolled out in Spain and Germany.
BlueCruise aims to reduce driver fatigue and stress, whether during daily commutes or long road trips. According to AAA, people spend an average of one hour driving each day, which can be physically and mentally draining. BlueCruise helps make this time more enjoyable and less tiring.
In North America, Ford has expanded BlueCruise availability to more electric, hybrid, and gas-powered Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the 2025 Ford Explorer and 2025 Lincoln Aviator SUVs. With Aviator deliveries starting this summer, all Lincoln models in the U.S. will have BlueCruise available.
Currently, there are over 420,000 BlueCruise-equipped Ford and Lincoln vehicles on the road globally. In the U.S. and Canada, customers have spent over 3.1 million hours using BlueCruise and driven more than 213 million hands-free miles, on approved highways mapped for BlueCruise.
