Tesla has launched the Quicksilver paint option for the Model Y in Canada.
Priced at $2,600 CAD, Quicksilver for the Model Y comes from vehicles produced at Giga Shanghai. Tesla added Quicksilver to the Model Y for the U.S. back in May. Quicksilver is the same price as Ultra Red in Canada.
Back in April, Quicksilver and Ultra Red expanded to Australia.
We have yet to see Quicksilver land for the Model 3 in Canada or the U.S. (last month it expanded to the Model 3 in Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific), but it’s likely to come soon, given how Tesla trickles down its features across its line up.
Other changes made for Canada? 19-inch Dark Gemini wheel covers are now standard, no longer a paid upgrade, replacing Light Gemini, which has been axed. Back in June, Tesla introduced Dark Gemini wheel covers as an aftermarket option as well, priced at $45 USD/$60 CAD each.
Other changes? Tesla has also removed the 7-seater option. By simplifying its production line, Tesla can continue to scale up deliveries in Q3 and into Q4. Who knows if the 7-seater will return or not.
