Here is SpaceX Starlink Mini Unboxing
Pictures of the new SpaceX Starlink Mini, shared by @SlingerRyan with @SawyerMerritt on Monday, reveal a lightweight device weighing 2.43 lbs, making it lighter than the 2024 MacBook Air, which weighs 2.7 lbs.
The Starlink Mini features a kickstand, a pipe adapter, an integrated WiFi router with lower power consumption, and maximum download speeds exceeding 100 Mbps.
Earlier this week, reports emerged about the limited early access release of Starlink Mini antennas, priced at $599 USD each, which is $100 more than the standard “Residential” antenna. SpaceX has expressed its intention to reduce the price over time.
In an email to customers, SpaceX stated, “Our goal is to reduce the price of Starlink, especially for those around the world where connectivity has been unaffordable or completely unavailable.”
The Starlink Mini service costs $150 USD per month, including a $30 monthly bundle on top of the $120 Residential service fee. The “Mini Roam” service allows usage anywhere in the United States with a 50-gigabyte monthly data cap, with additional data priced at $1 per gigabyte.
Looking at the Starlink Mini box, instructions are displayed on the package. It shows you how to open the stand, then plug in the antenna to power, plus there’s a QR code to download the Starlink app to set up the Starlink Mini. An image depicts pointing the Starlink Mini to the sky:
Designed to fit in a backpack and slightly larger than a piece of paper, the Starlink Mini can operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 50°C (-22°F to 122°F). Deliveries for the Starlink Mini are scheduled to begin in July.
The Mini Roam service, which costs an additional $30 per month, provides 50GB of mobile data usable anywhere in the United States, with extra data available at $1 per gigabyte. The router includes a built-in bypass mode, and SpaceX is increasing production to make the Mini available in international markets soon.
