Tesla Shareholders: Win a Gigafactory Tour with Elon and Franz

Tesla shareholders have the opportunity to win a tour of the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, guided by Elon Musk and lead designer Franz von Holzhausen.

The tour, scheduled for June 12, will allow a select group of stockholders to explore the Cybertruck and Model Y manufacturing lines alongside Tesla executives. Participants will also have reserved seats at the Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on June 13, 2024.

To enter the contest, shareholders must vote their shares and submit proof of ownership and voting. Alternatively, entries can be submitted via postcard. Each stockholder is allowed one entry, regardless of the number of shares held or voting choices. Fifteen stockholders will be randomly selected to join the tour.

Shareholders should submit proof of voting without revealing their voting choices. Eligibility for the drawing requires being a stockholder of record or a beneficial owner as of April 15, 2024. The deadline to submit proof of voting is Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:59 PM Central Time.

Tesla emphasizes that no purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win, and a purchase will not increase the chances of winning. The contest is void where prohibited by law.

Of course, this idea is to get shareholders to place crucial votes ahead of the annual meeting.

In 2018, Tesla stockholders approved a Performance Award for CEO Elon Musk, aligning his compensation with shareholder interests. Musk delivered a total shareholder return of nearly 1,100% in under six years.

Under the plan, if Musk failed to meet growth targets, he would receive no compensation. Additionally, he is required to hold any awarded shares for five years to ensure long-term growth.

The plan, which was designed to benefit both stockholders and Musk, was approved by an overwhelming vote. However, a Delaware Court recently ordered the plan to be cancelled. This is one of the proposals where shareholders need to vote ‘yes’ again, according to Tesla’s board recommendations.

“This important decision belongs to you, the owners of the Company. We’re asking you to make your voices heard again and and uphold the outcome of your 2018 vote,” said Tesla.
