SpaceX Achieves 50 Successful Missions Already in 2024
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced that the company has completed 50 successful missions so far this year already, marking the highest flight rate of any rocket in history.
Musk congratulated the team on X saying, “Congrats @SpaceXFalcon team on 50 successful missions already this year! Highest flight rate of any rocket ever.”
The milestone 50th mission took place on May 14 at 11:39 a.m. PT, when a Falcon 9 rocket launched 20 Starlink satellites, including six equipped with Direct to Cell capabilities, to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The mission utilized a first-stage booster that has now flown 18 times, having previously launched Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, Transporter-7, Iridium OneWeb, SDA-0B, and 13 Starlink missions.
