Tesla Cuts Price of FSD: Now $8,000 in US, $11,000 in Canada

Tesla has significantly reduced the price of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) package to $8,000 USD in the United States, down from the previous $12,000 USD. Canadian customers will also see a price cut, with the FSD package now costing $11,000 CAD, reduced from $16,000 CAD.

The price of Tesla’s FSD package has seen several adjustments since its introduction, reflecting the company’s ongoing development and valuation of its autonomous driving technology. Here’s a brief overview of the FSD pricing history:

  • Initially priced at $3,000 USD on October 19, 2016
  • Increased to $6,000 by February 28, 2019
  • Climbed to $7,000 on August 16, 2019
  • Reached $8,000 by July 1, 2020
  • Rose to $10,000 on October 22, 2020
  • Peaked at $12,000 on January 17, 2022

Tesla’s FSD subscription price are at $99 per month in both the United States and Canada, offering an alternative for those not ready to commit to the full purchase price. The subscription price was cut in half in the U.S. recently, and debuted in Canada for the first time.

Enhanced Autopilot is no longer available for purchase. Those that previously purchased Enhanced Autopilot, they can pay $2,000 in the U.S. to upgrade to the entire FSD suite, while it’s $2,750 in Canada.

The company’s latest FSD v12.3 has been pretty impressive and more human-like, and it appears Tesla is ready to push the envelope forward on FSD with this latest price cut.

Yesterday, Tesla slashed prices of the Model Y and Model S/X in the U.S. by $2,000 for all models.
