Tesla Adds Sport Seats for Model S Plaid, Retrofit Coming
Tesla has unveiled an addition to its high-performance Model S Plaid – the new Sport Seats designed specifically for enthusiasts of high-speed driving and precision cornering.
The announcement highlights the seats’ enhanced lateral support and modular architecture, ensuring both comfort and support. These seats maintain the standard 12-way power adjustability, heating, and ventilation features, but introduce high-performance suede for better grip and weight reduction.
Tesla has confirmed that these seats can be retrofitted into existing Model S Plaid models, with further details to be released.
The Model S Plaid, known for being the quickest accelerating car currently in production, has remarkable performance metrics: a 0-60 mph time of just 1.99 seconds, a quarter-mile speed of 9.23 seconds at 155 mph trap speed, and an output of 1,020 horsepower.
The sedan has three high-performance motors featuring carbon-sleeved rotors, torque vectoring for improved handling, higher thermal capability brake pads, a carbon fiber spoiler, and now, the new Sport Seats (which look like a version of the upcoming 2024 Model 3 “Ludicrous” seats).
Priced from $88,990 USD, the Model S Plaid has insane speed and acceleration, while offering seating for five.
