Cybertruck Beverly Hills Hotel Crash Blamed on ‘Unsafe Speed’: Police
Earlier this month, a Tesla Cybertruck crashed into the Beverly Hills Hotel sign and there was some confusion as to what really happened, due to some sarcastic claims on X (originally it was believed to be the valet that crashed the truck, but that was false).
Now, in an update regarding the March 3, 2024, traffic incident, the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) has released additional information. The accident, involving a solo Tesla Cybertruck, occurred around 11:46 P.M. on Sunset Blvd in the 9600 block area. As the Cybertruck attempted to enter the driveway of the Beverly Hills Hotel, it collided with a retaining wall, resulting in substantial damage to the vehicle’s front end.
The Beverly Hills Fire Department responded to the scene to assist three passengers who reported experiencing pain from the crash. These individuals, however, did not seek further medical treatment, said the BHPD in a news release on Tuesday.
The BHPD’s investigation concluded that driving at an “unsafe speed” was a key factor in the accident. The department used this incident to remind motorists of the crucial need to observe speed limits, especially when making turns and entering driveways on private properties, to prevent such accidents.
