Ford CEO Jim Farley announced today that Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners in the US and Canada can now access Tesla Superchargers (V3 and V4).

Starting today, eligible owners and lessees can reserve a complimentary Fast Charging Adapter through Ford’s dedicated website, enabling them to use over 15,300 upgraded Tesla Superchargers across North America.

This move is part of Ford’s efforts to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience for its customers by integrating the BlueOval Charge Network (BOCN) with Tesla’s expansive Supercharging network. The offer is available to Ford EV owners of models from 2021 to 2024 who are enrolled in the BOCN, with reservations open until June 30, 2024.

The Fast Charging Adapter facilitates charging at Tesla Superchargers that have been upgraded to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), identifiable by their peak rates of 250+ kilowatts (kW) and an all-black charge cord and handle, known as V3 or V4. Owners can easily locate these upgraded stations using the FordPass App or the Public Charging App available on their vehicle’s touchscreen, ensuring compatibility and convenience.

Ford has also noted that Ford Pro fleet customers with eligible models will receive separate communication regarding this offer. Additionally, for those interested in using Tesla Destination Chargers, a separate adapter is required, which can be purchased from third-party sellers.

To find compatible Tesla Superchargers, Ford EV owners are encouraged to use the FordPass App or the in-vehicle Public Charging App, which automatically filters in-network, upgraded stations and indicates when the Fast Charging Adapter is necessary. This initiative underscores Ford’s commitment to providing accessible and convenient charging solutions for its EV customers, further facilitating the transition to electric mobility.
