In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Tesla has unveiled a series of enticing promotional offers for its customers in China, valid through February and March 2024.
The electric vehicle giant is offering an 8,000 yuan cash discount on its Model Y, while supplies last, alongside a reduced price for all premium car paint upgrades on both the Model 3 and Model Y, now costing just 2,000 yuan. These offers are available from February 1 to February 29, with the condition that customers must take delivery of their vehicles by March 31, 2024.
Also, Tesla has introduced a new Quicksilver color option exclusively for the Model Y. Additionally, for a limited time, Tesla is providing low-interest financing options for orders of its Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y vehicles. Interest rates can be as low as 2.5% for orders placed up until March 31, 2024.
A significant upgrade announced by Tesla is the inclusion of Hardware 4 (HW4.0) in the Model Y, which brings a more powerful Pure Vision system to the vehicle. Tesla claims that the new system boasts the longest detection distance of up to 424 meters and offers faster processing of real-time image information.
The Autopilot response time has also seen improvements. HW4.0, which provides five times the compute power of its predecessor, is now standard across all Tesla vehicles, including the entire Model S, Model X, and 3/Y lineup. This upgrade introduces High Fidelity Park Assist and features new front, side, and rear cameras.
Tesla China shared a quote from CEO Elon Musk highlighting the rationale behind the focus on camera-based Pure Vision, stating that when camera and radar data conflict, it’s preferable to choose one, and Tesla has opted for cameras.
Last year, Tesla celebrated the Lunar New Year in China with new mobile wallpapers, and it remains to be seen if the nation will also get a special software update as well.
