2024 Porsche Macan EV Pricing Starts at $80,450
Porsche has officially launched its second all-electric model, the new Macan, featuring advanced powertrains and high performance. The electric SUV offers up to 639 PS and boasts a range of up to 613 km (WLTP). This launch marks a decade since the introduction of the original Macan, with the new generation showcasing a shift to all-electric technology.
The Macan Electric Models boast powertrains of up to 470 kW (639 PS) and deliver zero CO₂ emissions. With fast charging capabilities up to 270 kW, the vehicle combines sports-car performance with practicality for everyday use.
Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, emphasized the SUV’s exceptional E-Performance, new Driver Experience, and impressive design at the world premiere in Singapore.
Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan, highlighted Porsche’s ambition to offer the sportiest model in the segment. The Macan 4 and Macan Turbo feature front and rear electric motors, with the Macan 4 producing up to 300 kW (408 PS) and the Macan Turbo up to 470 kW (639 PS).
The maximum torque for these models is 650 and 1,130 Nm, respectively, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds for the Macan 4 and 3.3 seconds for the Macan Turbo.
The new Macan is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture. Its lithium-ion battery has a gross capacity of 100 kWh, with up to 95 kWh usable. The vehicle’s DC charging output peaks at 270 kW, allowing a charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes at appropriate fast-charging stations.
In terms of design, the Macan models feature sporty proportions and coupé-like lines, reflecting Porsche’s design DNA. Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche, noted that the all-electric Macan maintains the brand’s identity and sporty, modern appearance.
The SUV measures 4,784 mm in length, 1,938 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height, and offers up to 22-inch wheels. Its aerodynamics, enhanced by Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA), contribute to its efficiency and range.
The Macan’s practicality is also a highlight, with increased luggage space and a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 kg. The interior features a modern digital user interface along with select analogue controls. Porsche has also focused on ecological materials in the vehicle’s interior.
For connectivity, the Macan includes a new-generation infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS. It features up to three screens, including a 12.6-inch curved-design instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central display. A head-up display with augmented reality technology is a first for Porsche in the Macan.
The Macan 4 and Macan Turbo come with all-wheel drive and real-time controlled electric motors. They also feature Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) and Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) for improved traction and driving dynamics. The SUVs are equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the option for rear-axle steering.
The new electric Macan joins the company’s Taycan EV. Pricing for the new electric Macan 4 starts at $80,450 USD, while the Macan Turbo starts at $106,950 USD. You can place an order now but deliveries aren’t expected until later in 2024.
