Tesla Europe has announced a promotional offer to celebrate the expansion of its Supercharger network to non-Tesla electric vehicles (EVs).

Until January 6, 2024, owners of non-Tesla EVs can enjoy their first Supercharging session for free in 18 selected countries. This initiative is part of Tesla’s ongoing mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.

To access this offer, non-Tesla EV owners need to download the Tesla app (version 4.2.3 or higher), available for both iOS and Android. After creating a Tesla Account, users can select the ‘Charge Your Non-Tesla’ option, find a Supercharger site, and add a payment method. The charging process involves plugging in the car, selecting a stall, and tapping ‘Start Charging’ in the app. To end the session, users simply select ‘Stop Charging.’

This expansion of the Supercharger network, initially launched in November 2021, aims to provide access to a reliable and convenient fast-charging network, which is crucial for the widespread adoption of EVs. Since the introduction of its first Superchargers in 2012, Tesla has been committed to rapidly expanding this network. Currently, there are over 50,000 Superchargers globally.

The selected Supercharging stations are now accessible to non-Tesla EV drivers in 18 European countries. The following countries support non-Tesla Supercharging. It’s unclear which 18 Tesla has as part of this promo: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom.

It’s important to note that non-Tesla Supercharging is only available for CCS-enabled vehicles. Supercharger posts with two cables or an installed adapter can only accommodate the CCS connector. Tesla has stated that it cannot support vehicles that do not comply with CCS communication and safety protocols. In case of any charging issues, Tesla advises customers to contact Tesla Customer Support or their vehicle manufacturer.

This initiative not only opens up Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network to a broader range of EV users but also supports the company’s goal of learning and iterating quickly. By welcoming both Tesla and non-Tesla drivers, Tesla aims to facilitate the expansion of its network and encourage more drivers to adopt electric vehicles.
