Alright, now this is starting to look real. Previously, we saw what looked like a Tesla email go out detailing the Limited-Edition Foundation Series Cybertruck, but it wasn’t widespread, so there was some doubt about its legitimacy. But now, the Cybertruck order floodgates have opened.
Tesla has started sending out Cybertruck configuration emails to early reservation holders. The email says, “Your Limited-Edition Foundation Series Cybertruck is Ready to Order.”
“As an early reservation holder, you have been invited to order your Foundation Series Cybertruck with early access to delivery,” explains the email. “Your Cybertruck will be fully optioned and will include limited-edition laser-etched badging, premium accessories, charging equipment with Powershare home backup hardware, all-terrain tires, Full-Self Driving capability and more.”
Tesla says “deliveries have begun in California and Texas, with more states in 2024.” These new emails are going out to non-Tesla employees.
@WholeMarsBlog, a prominent Tesla owner received the email on Friday night, alongside many others.
The email confirms the $16,000 USD price for the Range Extender, which offers over 470 miles of total range. This unit needs to be installed at a service center, with production planned for late 2024. You can reserve this for $500 today.
Included premium accessories for the Foundation Series Cybertruck, which costs $99,990 USD ($79,990 Cybertruck + $20,000 for Foundation which includes a laser-etched badge and cabin graphic) include:
Tesla has a $250 USD order fee this time around, while the destination fee is $1,995.
Also worth noting, in the Foundation Series Cybertruck order agreement, it says you cannot sell your truck within one year of delivery (via @SawyerMerritt).
