Drag Race: Tesla Cybertruck vs $208,000 Lamborghini Urus [VIDEO]

cybertruck vs lamborghini

YouTube channel Carwow put Tesla’s Cybertruck, specifically the tri-motor version known as the Cyber Beast, against the Lamborghini Urus.

The event took place on a newly constructed road at Tesla’s Giga Factory in Austin, Texas. The Cybertruck, with its 845 horsepower and 930 Nm of torque, faced off against the Lamborghini Urus, powered by a 4 L twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque.

The Cybertruck, weighing in at 3,080 kilos and boasting a large battery pack of over 120 kWh, demonstrated its electric vehicle (EV) capabilities against the Urus, which weighs 2.1 tons. Despite the weight difference, the Tesla model, priced starting at $96,000 USD, easily beat the more expensive Lamborghini Urus, at $208,000 USD.

During the race, the Tesla Cybertruck achieved a significant lead, completing the standing quarter mile in 11.2 seconds, while the Lamborghini Urus trailed behind, finishing in 12.3 seconds. This performance marks a notable achievement for Tesla’s electric vehicle technology, particularly in the context of drag racing against a well-established super SUV like the Lamborghini Urus.

The event also included a rolling race from 30 mph, where the Tesla Cybertruck once again demonstrated its superior acceleration, leaving the Urus behind. A subsequent rolling race from 40 mph with the Urus in second gear yielded similar results, with the Cybertruck maintaining its dominance.

In a final brake test from 70 mph, the results were less clear-cut. The Cybertruck, equipped with mud tires, faced off against the Urus on performance summer tires, leading to a less decisive outcome.

Tesla made the Cybertruck to have the performance of a sports car because it also beat a Porsche 911 in a drag strip race–while also towing the same car too.
