Lucid Air Sapphire Ties Tesla Model S Plaid in ‘Doug Score’ [VIDEO]

Lucid Motors started first deliveries of its new Lucid Air Sapphire electric sedan on Monday, a performance version that rivals Tesla’s Model S Plaid.
Car reviewer Doug DeMuro got his hands on the new Lucid Air Sapphire and showed off details and the driving experience of the new EV, which costs a cool $250,000 USD and can go from 0-60 mph in 1.89 seconds, with a top speed of 205 mph, thanks to its 1,234 hp, to go with 427 miles on one charge.
DeMuro’s overall ‘Doug Score’ for the Sapphire tied the 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Dream Edition, with an overall score of 73, resulting in a three-way tie for the highest scores on the YouTube channel.
The Sapphire topped the Model S Plaid in handling, styling, ‘cool factor’, comfort and quality categories by 1 point. But the Model S Plaid was higher in the ‘fun factor’, practical, and value categories to make up for tie.
DeMuro called the Sapphire “amazing” with its performance and luxury looks and features, but of course it comes at a huge cost.
